Geez, where to start? I am an artistic person; music is the medium of my madness. I've been playing guitar for 10 years now, but I started playing music when I was 10, playing trumpet for a few years, switching to choir, and finally ending up playing the guitar after seeing Kurt Cobain shoot to the fore-front of an entirely new music genre. It was a great time to be a guitar player...EVERYBODY wanted to start a band (no experience required). While my musical tastes have become more refined in the years, and much more eclectic, I still remember the good old days when you could pick up a guitar and 2 weeks later be in a performing band. Fun stuff. Music has always been a major force in my life, from KoRn to Beethoven. Other than that I'm your typical 20-something's kind of person...my beliefs can be summed up in two statements; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "what goes on in your house behind closed doors is your business". I've never been one to impose my beliefs on anyone, and I respect everyone's beliefs as long as they don't conflict with those 2 statements. I'm easy to talk to and will go to great lengths to help out a friend. I make friends easily (a by-product of being a military brat, perhaps?) and like to surround myself with people as easy going as myself. Arrogance is not a trait well admired in my book; no matter how good a person is at something there will always be somebody better. My sense of humor has always been "edgy", and I may shock people at times with my dry, sarcastic humor, but I respect anyone who gives me respect in return. I LOVE a good debate, and deep discussions on the nature of life and love are commonplace with me and my close friends.
While that little blurb doesn't exactly encapsulate me, I guess it's as good a place as any to start. I've always been bad at this "describe yourself" kind of stuff, I mean, how can you take a person's moralities, spiritualities, and experiences and reduce them down to a few paragraphs? Hopefully I've encouraged people to read what I have to say. And if not, well, this journal is as much for myself as anyone else...to quote a film, "In an insane world it was the sanest choice"...
